Actions Faster Than Words

So often, as Telecommunicators, we find that we’ve already completed half of our tasks before we’ve even been able to explain to the callers that help is on the way. We’ve entered our information into our screens, started officers and medical en route, given the callers life-saving instructions, all while the caller is still on the line with us screaming for help. I see so many Communications Superheroes ending their converstations with “Don’t worry, help is already on the way.” Yes, we’re still asking you questions. Yes, we’re still keeping you on the line. And yes, you’re already closer to safety from all the work that’s been going on behind our voices. If you need help, and you need it now, just call a telecommunicator. It’ll be there ASAP.
