My Hero: Courtney Kirkland

I have had the pleasure of working alongside with Courtney Kirkland for over 9 years. We both worked at the Bowie County PSAP. I learned everything I know about the importance of officer safety from Courtney. She has a passion for her work that shines through in those moments where it matters, those moments that our officers depend on us for vital information, quick thinking and using good judgement. Courtney left dispatching and took on an equally difficult role as teacher. As we all know, this career is a calling and Courtney came back to dispatch communications with me when I moved to the Texas Department of Public Safety. I am pleased to present Courtney as someone who inspires me daily to be better, learn more, and diligently work for officer and public safety.
