I would like to congratulate my coworkers for always giving 110%. Our center covers 18 counties in the panhandle of Florida, (that’s a lot of geography to retain) and we’re still able to keep irate callers calm because they don’t know where they’re at. Getting slammed hard at the comm center during hurricane Michael. Dealing with what felt like more than our regular shift hours, our emotions plus the emotions and frustrations of the public. And being able to work a busy radio, and stay as calm as possible. Also being stretched thin with staff, as some were sent to work the command bus 50-100 miles away from the center.  But mostly, being there for one another on the comm center floor.
